Donations to Rural Hospitals in North Vietnam
During the month of January 2018, Day One Health was very active in the donation of essential, appropriate medical devices to rural and remote hospitals in North Vietnam. A team of Day One Health travelled to three hospitals (Vinh Phuc Provincial General Hospital, Phu Tho General Hospital and Thao Nguyen Referral Hospital in Moc Chau District, Son La Province) and donated to each institutions a package of essential devices, such as Wallaby (the newest infant warmer of MTTS), Colibri and Firefly phototherapy for the treatment of severe Jaundice and several key nursing care kits that will allow the staff of each hospital to provide better care to newborns. The donors of this initiative were local Italian communities (from the Province of Trento) that fundraised during 2017 to raise the funds needed to provide those essential technologies to ensure newborn survival. During the delivery, Gregory Dajer (MTTS CEO and Day One Health Board Members) spent several hours training these hospitals in the correct use, maintenance and cleaning of the donated equipment. Those instructions and this technical training are essential to make sure that all the machines are used well and kept into good shape for a long time.
