Newborn Care Medical Equipment Given to Nepal Government Hospitals
Recently, many pieces of medical equipment that are necessary for neonatal treatment in hospitals were donated. The donation was co-financed by the Autonomous Province of Trento, Italy, in collaboration with Amici della Neonatologia Trentina – onlus (ANT), Day One Health and Medical Technology Transfer and Services (MTTS) through different Lions Clubs of Nepal. These pieces of equipment are necessary to infants during the first month after birth. The pieces of equipment were given to Dhaulagiri Zonal Hospital by Lions Club of Baglung, Lumbini Zonal Hospital by Lions Club of Butwal, Siddhi Memorial Hospital Bhaktapur by Lions Club of Kathmandu Samakhusi, Damauli Hospital by Lions Club of Tanahun and Bhanubhakta, Koshi Zonal Hospital by Lions Club of Biratnagar Green City, Mid Western Hospital Surkhet by Lions Club of Surkhet and Pokhara Academy of Health Science by Lions Club of Pokhara Newroad Chautari and Lions Club of Pokhara Lake City. Similarly, the support of second phase of Phototherapy Machine and UPS with Battery Backup is targeted in hospitals of Dhading, Gulmi, Ardhakhachi and Lamjung. Mr. Roka added that, for the sustainability of the program and to ensure local participation and ownership, this program was implemented in collaboration with local Lions Clubs. He also explained that this support is very important for a country like Nepal, and the equipment should be used correctly and as needed.
